I am a summer student here, and I run the reception desk and do legal research.
I learned that your reputation is one of your most important assets in life. A bad reputation will follow you everywhere, and a good reputation will help you move forward in pretty much anything you do.
I was born and raised in Nanaimo, but my dad has worked in Langford for the last 7 years, so it has been a second home for me.
I love that I’m walking distance from work, but also that I’m close to so many hiking trails.
1. Blueback Beach in Nanaimo – I grew up walking distance from it, and I have a lot of childhood memories from there.
2. Rome – the history there is incredible, and so is the food and culture. I have visited there three times so far, and I hope that I’m able to go back soon.
3. Any hockey rink – I have spent a majority of my life playing hockey, and I always feel at home in a rink.
My passion is hockey. I have played since I was five years old (I’m a goalie), and I also referee and coach, not to mention watching hockey. During the winter, if I’m not doing school work, I’m likely doing something hockey related.
As a student working here, I am still learning about the law and what it takes to be a lawyer, and I believe that this gives me a different perspective as I interact with clients. Moving forward, this experience will allow me to deliver more for my future clients.
I obtained my BA in History from Vancouver Island University in 2018, and I am now studying law at the University of Ottawa. I have enjoyed exploring everything Ottawa has to offer, including seeing Parliament Hill, the Supreme Court, and skating on the Rideau Canal.
I joined Hemminger Law Group Westshore the summer after completing my first year at uOttawa.
